About

Our Mission

The Oregon Daily Press is an online newspaper with roots in the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon. Staffed primarily by student journalists, ODP publishes news stories by our journalists, including user-submitted news from all across Oregon via an RSS feed, posts on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Reddit comment threads, blogs maintained by individual student staff members, and more.

The goal of the Oregon Daily Press is to bring Oregonians the latest breaking news in the state, including sports, entertainment, politics, and more.

The paper’s motto is “the reporting you want to read,” which was chosen as a part of its founding mission statement: “We will provide students with valuable experience in journalism and be the source for important University issues.”

Students or veteran journalists who are interested in joining The Oregon Daily Press’ staff may do so by submitting an application.
